Recommendation

That Council acknowledge Ms. Lana Bouma's contributions to the community and to the Canada/Japan Society with a Certificate of Recognition.

Purpose

Council is asked to recognize the contributions that Ms. Bouma has made to the Society, school and homestay program during her term on the Spruce Grove Canada/Japan Society by way of presentation of a Certificate of Recognition.

Background

Lana Bouma was a member of the Spruce Grove Canada/Japan Society from July 2007 to July 2009. During her two years as a Society member, Ms. Bouma provided valuable insight and support toward the initiatives and activities of the Canada/Japan Society, the Kokusai Kaiyou School of Marine Sciences and to the Homestay Program for the school. Both the Society and staff will miss her volunteer commitment and her love of the community.
