Recommendation

That the Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for August 24, 2009 be cancelled.

Purpose

To cancel the Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for August 24, 2009.

Background

Council at its last organizational meeting passed, by resolution, a schedule of regular Council and Committee of the Whole meetings.

The Municipal Government Act stipulates that if Council has such a schedule in place, any changes to it must also be made by resolution. It also stipulates that at least twenty-fours notice of such a change must be given.

Administration is recommending that the Committee of the Whole meeting scheduled for August 24, 2009 be cancelled as there is no requirement for this meeting.
