and

That Mr. Les Brace be recognized for his years of service to the Spruce Grove Specialized Transit Service with a Certificate of Recognition for his contribution to the community through his work on the Spruce Grove Specialized Transit Service Board.

Background/Analysis
Lee Peters joined the Specialized Transit Service Board in April 1997 and served 20 terms on the board, two as Board President.  Lee was a valuable board member who organized fundraising initiatives to raise funds to purchase Specialized Transit vehicles. Giving back to the community is important to Lee and she was always involved with the annual Specialized Transit Services Food Drive resulting in the collection over the years of over $40,000 in non-perishable food items.  Lee worked diligently with the board, community and seniors facilities to ensure accessible transportation was available for everyone in the community who needed it.

Les Brace joined the Specialized Transit Service Board in April 2000 and served 18 terms on the board, most of them as Board Treasurer. Lee also served on various committees of the board and applied his business knowledge to assist with STS operations and financial affairs. Community engagement is important to Les and providing accessible transportation to those in need of it was a strong motivator for joining the STS board. Giving back to the community was also important to Les and he volunteered for the Specialized Transit Services Food Drive year after year which helped to collect over $40,000 in non-perishable food items.
