Information
Request for Decision Summary
The purpose of this report is to provide and present information to both Council and the public, in order to facilitate a public hearing for Bylaw C-1099-19.

Bylaw C-1099-19 is a road closure bylaw that will close a 0.5 ha portion of surplus, undeveloped, Oswald Drive right-of-way. The closure area would be sold to the adjacent owner for consolidation into their future industrial development.

Proposed Motion
That those in attendance be thanked for their input.
Background/Analysis
A 0.5 ha area of undeveloped road right-of-way, identified as future Oswald Drive, is proposed for closure. The area is adjacent to 17 Golden Spike Road and was created with the subdivision of  Lot 1, Plan 002 0866. This road right-of-way was created to provide access to both Lot 1, Plan 002 0866 and future development/subdivision within the SE 33-52-27-4; this access option is no longer required for that future development as access from Golden Spike Road is available.

For more information regarding this bylaw, please refer to the Request for Decision report for second and third reading of this bylaw, which has been included in the February 10, 2020 agenda package.
Options/Alternatives
Should Council feel that additional information is required prior to making a decision on this bylaw they may choose to adjourn the public hearing for continuance at a later date.
Consultation/Engagement
Advertising of the public hearing was placed in the January 24 and 31, 2020 editions of the Spruce Grove Examiner, satisfying the requirements of the Municipal Government Act. In addition to these advertisements, all adjacent landowners within 30m of the closure area were mailed notification notices.
Implementation/Communication
Bylaw C-1099-19 is being presented for Council's consideration of second and third readings later on this same Council agenda.
Impacts
Approval of Bylaw C-1099-19 would enable the sale of a portion of surplus road right-of-way for industrial development.
