Background/Analysis
The Outstanding Achievement Recognition Policy was developed to bring municipal recognition to Spruce Grove individuals, teams, groups and organizations who have accomplished outstanding achievements in the fields of athletics, fine arts, academics and cultural services at a provincial, national or international level.

This was the first year in the Twins AA program for all the players on the Parkland Twins Mosquito AA White team. They demonstrated their resilience and unwillingness to give up as they rebounded from two early losses in the Tier 4 Provincial tournament to go undefeated the rest of the way winning the provincial title and Gold medal.

The Peewee AAA Parkland Twins had a dominate season. The team ran the province leaderboards for the course of the year ultimately paving their way to a 36-4 record. The twins dominated in the provincial round winning four out of five games by 10 or more runs, ultimately clinching the provincial championship and Gold medal.

The Parkland Twins Bantam AAA started the season off by making it to the finals in Kamloops, BC at the Best of the West tournament. They also took part in high quality tournaments in Richmond, BC and again in Kamloops before capping the season off with a 4-1 record at provincials that secured them the Gold medal. This win had them representing Alberta at the National Championships where they had three wins and three losses to place 9th in the country.

Congratulations are extended to these athletes for their dedication to their sport.
